Since Solar Optimum installed our panels over 2 years ago, our electric bill has been $2.20 a month (the cost of hooking us up to the LADWP grid). In addition, the panels have been so efficient, that I received a few hundred dollars in credits for over producing electricity last year. I run my air-conditioner for at least 6 months of the year. I am very happy with their service, with their follow-up to questions I have, and with the stability of the company. Once the installation was completed (which always takes longer than they say, with any solar company because of the number of permits and LADWPs lag time in reviewing permissions), and the monitoring system was installed, and we were hooked up into the grid, you can forget about it. All we have to do is rinse the panels off with a hose about every 3 to 6 months, depending on whether there is any rain. I highly recommend this company.

It took me 3 months to research and evaluate Solar Companies before I came across Solar Optimum. It was not so much about lowest price wins the deal but actually the technology behind it. So I probably had 3 to 5 estimates with the top installers in my local area of Long Beach and 2 from Los Angeles area. So I met with Eric from Solar Optimum and what really blew me away was that he offered a product that just came out that month I had my Solar installed, other competition still were processing it and were not available. Lastly another thing that stand out was that their warranty was pretty intensive up to 25 years while the competition only wants to do it for 10 years. Installation had no hiccups. Another key factor in any installation is communication. Updating or telling the installer your concerns in advance helps the process. Eric guided me with the process clearly. The city inspection was smooth and no issues. I had an upgraded 200 amp panel too in the process since my panel was 100 amp.
