The system was installed 15 months ago, designed to cover 88 percent of my energy usage but has only covered 30 percent. That's not Gene's fault. The cost of the panels plus my electric bill are above what I paid before the system was bought. Not happy will the production.

I love my panels. They are aesthetically very handsome. They generate more than enough power for my home and have saved me $100 a month in electricity bills. The sales team was great and did not pressure me. The many technicians who were involved with the installation were professional. The issue I have is with the engineer involved with signing off on things. He made a lot of mistakes which caused several delays in installation. Took an additional 3 months from the timeframe given to us which means it took 5 months and most of the Summer sun days before I had solar (not to mention I was paying for the panels and my regular electric bill for 3 months). Once installation began, there were weeks upon weeks of never hearing from anyone regarding the status or the next step. We felt forgotten. Once I made phone calls, the ball would start rolling again. The installation part of this process infuriated me and made me regret going with Freedom Solar; however, now that the process is done, I have to say that I love the panels and am glad I went with this company. I even referred a friend to them and they also purchased panels from Freedom Solar. If they can improve their communication throughout the entire process, from contract to power on, I would 10 star rate them.

The field people work is excellent. They even clean up after themselves. Overall, the Austin office people could be more satisfactory. It took months, including a letter to the president, to install a 3rd Tesla battery they sold. They rely too much on automation to communicate with customers. Some of it doesn't make sense, and the customer is never sure who or what position of the person or computer the communication is coming from. They seem to need to be more knowledgeable about Projection Management. Not one person was assigned primary accountability, and then the name was provided to the customer. It isn't good because they have solid performing products and good field people. The Austin office does a disservice to the field people.

The process was complex, but Freedom Solar staff did a good job in communicating what was happening. They worked with my HOA to get approval for the plans, and installed pretty much within the timelines. However, I have not received the $500 for a completed referral that I made. I am awaiting explanation for the delay.

There were numerous hiccoughs along the way, from the time we decided to buy a system until the project was finally complete and ready to use. However, they were by no means all the sole fault of Freedom Solar. As a matter of fact, yours truly was the cause of some of them myself because I was so terrible about checking my emails, phone calls and messages on my cellphone. Since that was the only way that we had set up for them to contact us, then it wasn't their fault that I wasn't responding. Another delay was caused by the weather; the day they first showed up to start working on the project it was pouring down rain in buckets and I sure wouldn't want to be up there on a roof in that myself. So that added at least another week or two because they had to find an opening which they could reschedule us for. Then there was CPS Energy itself!! Your project WILL BE at their convenience and availability, PERIOD. The first time when they showed up to do the final inspection, the battery had almost completely discharged in between when the work was completed and the inspection date. The battery takes quite a while to be almost fully charged up, and the CPS inspector could not just hang out with us waiting for it to charge up because he had other projects to inspect. So, it was back to the waiting game in order to be put back on CPS's schedule, and lo and behold it ALMOST happened a second time, although it wasn't quite as fully discharged the second time and the inspector agreed to go ahead and wait a little bit with us considering what all we had gone through so far. He actually was able to complete his inspection when it was at around 93 % if I remember correctly. So, now you are probably wondering how on Earth I could give them a 5-star rating with all of those problems. The answer is simple - their Customer Service and the Superior Quality of their work and the equipment itself is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!

I will purchase again and/or recommend Freedom Solar Power System to others. - Likes: Design, Quality of Products, Installation, Personnel, Customer Service, Interest Free Financing, - Dislikes: Lack of Training/Familiarization of Operation, Strategy, Technical Assessment Report of Operational System, Advantage/Disadvantage of How to Use/operate System & Phone Apps, Upfront definition to solar system completion in support of taking the Tax Rebate, - How long did it take from the time you signed the contract to the time your system was fully installed? Installation time Jun 23 - Dec 4, 2021, about 5.5 mos., Have not received any compensation for the mos. when loan payments started (Jan 2023) and solar system became operational (Mar 2023).

I felt like after the contract was signed there were multiple issues. The CEO got involved and resolved everything. He was great, down to earth guy. However, after installation was done, was expecting our sales rep to reach back out to check up on us, but that didn’t happen. I felt we were not well prepared once installation occurred.
