We installed SunPower solar panels on our home in 2018. In September, 2023, I realized that 3 inverters are no longer working and I reported that to SunPower. I have been calling them weekly since then to try to get the warranty replacement done but SunPower keeps telling me different reasons why the repair cannot be completed. First they did not have a contractor in my area and now they're telling me they don't have the parts yet and it may be one or two months more before they receive them. I was told earlier that they did have the parts and were trying to find a local contractor to do the work. I've spoken with multiple customer service agents and today I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told the supervisor did not want to talk to me. If I had known this is how they treat their customers I never would have purchased their product. If you're reading this review (and there are others like mine) - do not purchase your solar panels from SunPower. They do not take care of their customers.

This company has the worst customer service. Their panels had not been working for who knows how long and they failed to notify me when I contacted them I find out their system that as supposed be monitoring hasn’t been working for a long time. They still haven’t replaced the part and I had to pay over 4K in electricity I have called and they never have an update the last person I spoke with “Jessica” said she can’t help because the person that knows my case is off and when I asked to speak with a supervisor she was bothered and put me on hold them comes back and said her supervisor Liz did not want to speak with me because “there’s nothing we can do”. I told her that was unacceptable and she said that she and her supervisor were only going to tell me the same thing. I would not walk but run from making business with this company. I didn’t even chose them the lease came when I bought my house I wish I would’ve had the opportunity to find a better company.

After working at some length with the SP's sales agent we agreed to a roof layout, # of panels and price. Signed contract. SP had an aerial view of the roof and SP conducted a site survey. Later found that SP had submitted permit with the utility with different roof layout. Few weeks later SP said we needed to sign an addendum for an additional $25,600 "because of our type of roof". No detail has been provided for the increase. Several questions have been ignored. No installation to date--bad experience.

Customer service with SunPower is one of the worst I’ve ever had to deal with. I’ve been assigned a coordinator that hasn’t responded to 5 emails requesting a status on my outgoing outage. When I call the customer support line they aren’t aware of what the repair tech did on his visit on 10-13. That’s when he removed and inspected 13 panels and declared they are beyond repair and must be replaced. He also removed the trunk wires for the panels and Disconnected the entire system. I’ve heard not a word from SunPower about replacement etc. It was very frustrating this morning when customer support said they don’t see anything in the case notes. The case number is 03228248. And the coordinator who doesn’t respond is a Sandra Casanova My problem has been going on since February of 2023. That’s over 8 months. Solar power is great just hope and pray you never have any problems.

I got solar panels installed in May and There has been a faulty panel that has been up there ever since. It has taken multiple visits for technicians to diagnose and the problem still has not been resolved. The warranty does not discuss how quickly something is supposed to be fixed. When you get solar, you are responsible for the performance of your own system so be aware that in that regard it's another headache vs just being connected to the utility. Sunpower does not make it easier. It's not the installers fault in this case. Sunpower just won't approve the repair and replacement. Furthermore, the problem was pretty obvious that the panel was underperforming and for some reason this has taken months to escalate with me having to push the ball forward. If I hadn't reached out and continued to reach out the problem still wouldn't have been looked at. To this day, the panel has not been replaced. With all the technicians they sent out, it would've been more cost effective to have replaced the panel by now.

I can't speak to the product yet because they haven't completed the installation. For the reputation of SunPower and additional expense paid for the reputation and service, the installation so far has been a let down. We had 2 different site inspections to plan the installation for our house which we had to plan our FT jobs around. When the installers came last week, they were scheduled for Monday/Tuesday but by Tuesday, we were told the distance from the planned hub/battery to the electrical panel was "unexpectedly" long (how can that be after 2 site visits?) so would need to come back on Friday or following Monday to finish the electrical transfer. The team came on Wednesday to do some additional work and then came on Friday. On Friday, we were told that they were not ready to do the electrical transfer and we should plan to have it done Monday. On Monday, no one showed up and no one called. When I called SunPower, the CS rep reviewed the notes and said the Monday appt wasn't even listed. We have fulltime jobs where we have to coordinate in office or telework with our colleagues, work with a separate contractor for our house renovation we put on hold for the last 2 weeks, and also a large salt water aquarium so have been anxious about that and generator power for each of the days we were told to expect a power outage that didn't happen. I am now waiting for a 4th appointment for this electrical transfer. I was looking forward to this installation and was confident in SunPower but with this dragging on, it's rather disappointing.

Although I am satisfied with the product, the customer service is poor. went through 5 project coordinators and 10 months of delays for no apparent reasonable explanation before up and running. Biggest complaint was a false promo for a $1,000 gift card if you purchased/financed their system using their preferred financial partners, which I did. Made numerous complaints, was given a case number and after 15 months still getting nothing. Apparently the different departments do not have the ability to converse with each other and fix simple issues.

SunPower installed solar panels on my home in Feb 2023. In Aug 2023 there was a major storm in the area, the first of the season, and we realized that water was leaking into the home due to broken tiles on the roof. SunPower installers were the only people that had been on our roof for years and we had never had any issues whatsoever with leaks prior to this, so we knew the leak was caused by the installers. SunPower sent inspectors who agreed that the damage was caused by SunPower and that the company would take care of the repairs. We recorded that conversation. Three days later, we received official communication from SunPower stating that they would NOT be accepting responsibility, even after we sent them a copy of the recording in addition to several estimates from contractors stating in the estimates that in their professional opinion, the damage was caused by broken tiles (i.e., not by 'wear and tear'). The total cost to repair our home from this damage is approximately $20,000 (between the roof and the water damage in the ceilings and walls inside). We're now in the process of working with contractors to repair the damage, and paying for it all out of pocket. SunPower still refuses to accept any responsibility.

What started out as a well managed responsive business that I was happy to recommend to others has degraded to the point where I can no longer recommend them. Right now I am locked out of my system management account and the company provides no means of resetting my password to allow me to regain access.

Terrible system with underproduction for last 10 years. I have another 15 years old system that works better. Even worse is customer service. Anytime they come to service your system, they wipe off data and claim that they don’t have information. They are supposed to monitor system.System is non functioning for last 13 months and still they can’t replace an inverter. Yes, this is happening HERE IN AMERICA from a company claims to be all AMERICAN. I guess it’s just because I have fully prepaid lease. You can’t go wrong by getting solar system from any company but SunPower.

Since the installation of my home solar panel system, the system has had both performance issues, as guaranteed by the lease agreement, and problems with roof leaks. While the performance issue was eventually addressed, after only being brought to their attention, the roof leak has been on-going and continuous. Both companies (SunPower/Certasun) were at first accommodating to resolve the issues, but recently, they have determined that the roof leak was not do to the solar installation. The roof leaks are located in the same place and right underneath the solar panel mount assembly. I have been trying to get both companies to comply with the mitigation requirements as spelled out in the lease agreement, but as of yet neither have complied. They should not be offering solar services if they cannot follow through on their guarantees. This gives me pause to use solar energy in the future, which is unfortunate, and I certainly won't be dealing with either of these companies again!

I had the unexpected pleasure of meeting a SunPower representative at my doorstep, which initially left me skeptical given my unfortunate experiences with other solar companies in the past. I had developed a natural inclination to shoo away such salespeople, fearing a repeat of pushy tactics and disappointment. However, this encounter turned out to be refreshingly different. The SunPower representative I spoke with was remarkably composed and professional, immediately setting a positive tone for our interaction. After some hesitation, I decided to give them a chance, with one clear condition: I did not want a pushy salesperson invading my home. To my delight, my apprehensions soon gave way to genuine appreciation.During our appointment, I was absolutely stunned by the level of professionalism exhibited by our solar consultant. It was a stark contrast to my previous disastrous consultations with other solar companies. He patiently provided us with a comprehensive breakdown of the entire process, far exceeding what we thought we already knew. It was evident that he possessed a deep knowledge of the subject matter, answering all our questions and addressing every concern with a genuine expertise that I had not encountered before. Most importantly, he never resorted to high-pressure sales tactics. Instead, he took the time to educate us and guide us through the decision-making process. What truly stood out was the seamless communication between us and our project coordinators throughout the entire process. The entire SunPower team was incredibly responsive, leaving us with a sense of reassurance that our project was in capable hands. It's worth noting that our project took longer than initially expected, and SunPower's quote was the most expensive among those we received. However, the outcome more than justified the investment. We couldn't be happier with our decision to go with SunPower. It has been two months since our solar system was installed, and we have encountered no issues whatsoever. The system is performing exactly as promised, delivering the expected results with precision. I wholeheartedly recommend SunPower for anyone considering solar solutions. They've managed to restore my faith in the industry, and their professionalism, knowledge, and commitment to customer satisfaction are truly commendable. While their quote may be higher than some competitors, the value they deliver and the peace of mind they provide are absolutely worth it. Thank you, SunPower, for exceeding our expectations and providing us with a solar solution that has proven to be a smart and reliable investment.

Customer service is great UNTIL installation. They are then difficult. Hard to get firm information from representatives. Too busy selling to follow up perhaps.
