It’s been absurd that my project has been delayed many times, and nobody is even on top of my project. My project started in October 2023, and yet today is March 26th, I’ve been waiting for more than half a year, it still hasn’t been accomplished yet. What’s worst, we failed the building department Inspection. The Sunpower guy didn’t even try to fix it and left in the middle of the process, and it’s been seven days I’ve never heard back from them again . It’s been a very stressful process. I have to try to contact them a few times a week just so I can get a hold of someone on top of my project, otherwise it’s being ignored. I’m investing $50,000 cash in the solar panel project, expecting it to be reliable and giving me a long-term benefit. Now I’m not sure with this type of irresponsible service, how much I can expect in the future. I suggest people to look elsewhere, I do not recommend Sunpower.

My solar panel system hasn’t worked since September 2022! I’ve continued paying my lease each month. Go with Sunpower if you like paying for no service.

I had a permitting issue that came up during install and sunpower denied my plans, my rep Jared L took it upon himself to resolves said permit issues and sunpower installed solar( so in theory those issues had to be resolved in order to move forward) come almost a year later I am getting letters from the city saying permits were never approved. my rep also scammed me out of $1000 visa rebate card. sunpower just tries to outlast customer complaints untill you get tired of getting nowhere. Never trust Jard L or any sunpower rep! Crooks! Liars! Dishonest!

SunPower Installed panels on my home late 2016...overall, I have been pleased, but repeated failed Inverters have become a big problem, as I cannot get them serviced from any local SunPower dealer, or the Company themselves. I ve had an Issue going on since August 2023, and resolution is nowhere in sight. Repeated promises for looking into my Issue &a phone callfrom both Boss Energy in Charleston SC, and Sunpower themselves go Unanswered! the telephone only seems to work one way. I would NOT recommend SunPower to anyone, as the service after the sale is apparently non existent

Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve dealt with - apologies like crazy but no performance - in a month from now it’ll have been 1/2 a year without power and no word on when it’ll be fixed. All I’m left with is major regrets for my Sunpower contract. Buyers beware!

I would not recommend Sunpower, we live in an HOA and they did not read the form and provided incomplete information, and no follow up or advisement on the progress. We had to inform Sunpower that the local utility had approved the work. We have decided to go in a different direction. If they can not provide a complete HOA Permit Form with backup documentation then going forward will repeat this trend. Although there are good reviews below, this review is our experience.

After talking to two other solar companies I contacted SunPower based on the high reviews. I gentleman named Breon J came to our house for a survey and quote. He was much more knowledgeable and did a much better presentation. He explained the equipment, benefits, and RUI in great detail. He also helped us fill out the information details needed to be prepared for submission and acceptance. If you are interested in obtaining information about solar, equipment, installation and tax exemptions I would highly recommend you contact him. His quote was much less than the other two that we had received from competitors, and we felt the our decision to proceed was the a good choice. I will update this review following the upfront engineering, installation and results related to lowering our monthly electrical cost.

My solar system is installed and approved by city inspector and utility company. Sunpower has FAILED to activate my system. The delay now is one month. Sunpower provides no explanation, no estimate of when the system will be activated. TERRIBLE customer service. The delay is costing me each day with the utility company: I am being charged when my solar system is not turned on. DO NOT use Sunpower

Improper installation has left our roof with at least approximately 8 + leaks. SunPower came out and moved the panels around because the hold down screws came through the roof and leaked. They filled the holes with silicone expecting to stop the leaks. They said they wouldn't know if that would work until it rained and to get back to them if the problem continued. We have been contacting them for the last 4 months without a response. I'm told by a roofing contractor that the panels have to come off and the roof repaired before the panels can be reinstalled. I've had my system for about 2 months and it hasn't saved me any money. I've been using more power from the grid than my panels, which is disheartening because I got the panels to save money. The rep from the company also promised I would receive a $500 check and a electric heater, after install. I had to reach out to the rep several time to inquire when I would receive the heater and the check. I finally received the heater last week, but I haven't received the check. After about the 5th time of me inquiring about the check, he stated he had no control over when it would be mailed out. Even though I am not in dire need for money, it is the principle. If someone, be it a business or person tell you you will receive something, you would expect it. Of course, not saving on my bill and the company not making good on a promise has caused me to be concerned about the decision I have made, getting panels.

My solar monitoring system went out last summer. Sunpower has been “trying to locate a tech” to assign to fix. I’ve yet to have one tech assigned to diagnose the issue. Customer service for this company is dog sh-t at best.

I had a great experience with SunPower. Very high quality panels, excellent warranty, and great savings compared to what I’m paying for with the utility. Given SunPower has been in business for decades, I feel very comfortable using their products.

SunPower is unresponsive several times with my experience. I actually had to report them to the BBB for lack of communication and response. First, when they installed the solar panels, I had my home inspection that failed, and they needed to come back. Not a big deal, but they took forever to comeback, and I had to hound them to come back out and they had forgot the issues that needed corrected and took 3 visits to get it correct. Second, when I had a roof leak they did not respond for weeks and then it turned to months before I heard from them. I had to get my own contractor and fix the leak myself. I plan on selling my home and getting solar again and will not be using SunPower due to their lack of customer service. Also, my co-worker used SunPower and had a similar experience as I did. You can have a great product, but if you can respond or fix issues in a timely manner then the product doesn't matter.

Started off great, but unfortunately still dealing with an installation issue 8 months later. Freedom Solar, the installation partner, installed our panels too low for our flood zone. I’ve spent over $130k and countless hours trying to get Freedom out to move the panels so we can pass inspection. The city inspector literally stops by once a week and I just can’t get anyone at Freedom to resolve this. I wish SunPower would live into the seamless service they promised. Dozens of calls and tickets that just circle. So frustrating
