We paid 22K in 9/2022 for a deposit for a solar project by Sun Badger Solar. They had an outside company do an engineering plan and the we have had no progress since then. They cannot give me a date for installation. We have had to hire an attorney to try to get our money back.

We would not recommend going near this company. We have been in contract with them since May 2022 and nothing had been done. Thankfully we are not mid project or out a huge sum of money for anything. The company has become unresponsive to us. They really should not have a good rating here. The BBB has dropped their score from A to F in just a few days' time due to all of the complaints.

Company has disappeared? Closed? Shuttered? Who knows. All I know is they stopped responding to all attempts at communication and now I’m maybe locked into a contract for a company that is defunct. 0/10 would use again.

I had a very good experience with Sun Badger Solar for the installation of my 13kW solar system on my roof here in Wisconsin. Everything was pretty much on time, overall project until everything was done and installed and up and running took about 6 months. Sun Badger Solar took care of the entire communication with WeEnergies. The only thing that surprised me was that there were a lot of different people involved in the project - lots of different people to communicate with and different people arriving at your house for installation. But everybody was very friendly and we had a great service. Overall, very much recommended. I will share a video on my YouTube channel called Electrified Veronika as soon as we collected enough data to show how the system performs. It also covers the entire installation process.

Amazing experience. They were the first company I checked with when going solar and after the first meeting I didn’t even bother looking for another : ). They spelled it all out for me. How the panels should go on the house, how the installation process works, how the rebates work…everything. Do yourself a favor and have them come out and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

The process started very smoothly, and as long you understand all the factors, there is very little required from the customer except for your contracts and SRECS and the installation, as they will need access to your house. In my case, our installers were excellent, particularly their manager (Ryan), who always maintained excellent communication and diligence. Our salesman was pretty good, but some things got lost. If you have any means to pay cash or go with some personal finance (HELOC, etc...), that is your best bet as their finance still makes sense for some, but the fees are just outrageous (20%+) upfront, and you have the interest on top. Also, you have a very short period to back out, otherwise is a 5% fee of the whole project cost, and remember, if you pay cash, the cost is about half cheaper, even before incentives. Otherwise, the whole process is excellent. Just do your best to size the system as best as possible with your salesman and try to make it as future-proof as possible.

The Sun Badger Solar team communicated very well throughout the process. We had some challenges on our property, but they worked hard to solve the issues and create an affordable alternative for our situation. From the moment our system went live, we were producing at a high rate.

Very positive experience from the sales process through after sale support. A small supply chain delay (no surprise) and schedule juggling, but all the staff with whom I worked were professional, friendly, and worked together as a team. Only "oops" was missing the Critter Guard, but I'll be okay. Highly recommend the company.

This is my second system with Sun Badger. The process was straightforward and the equipment and installation were top-notch. They handled all the red tape and got my system up and generating ahead of projections. 2 weeks in to generation and I've generated my first megawatt with my new system.

My experience with Sun Badger Solar has been extremely positive. They exceeded expectations from beginning to end of the sales, installation and government/utility process. One of the significant factors in choosing Sun Badger is they have a comprehensive installation process that includes the planning, financing, working through all permitting, installation and monitoring. My time involvement after making the decision to go with Sun Badger for my installation was minimal - digital communications, a site visit, letting the installers into my house for each 3 days of installation and meeting the city inspector for about a half hour for his inspection. My understanding is that Sun Badger has its own installers do the vast majority of their installations. They actually had Home Team Electric perform my install. Home Team did a great job. I had 23 panels installed, plus had my panel upgraded from 100 amp to 200 amp. I have a detached garage, that panels were installed on, so Home Team also ran a wire for a 240 Volt EV charging port to the garage. This work included trenching and cutting a small amount of concrete. The installers did a great job of both planning and execution. Everything was completed in about 2.5 days, which included rain on 1.5 of the days. They left everything cleaner than they left it. The inspector had one small issue which was fixed within days of when the inspector came. The system was also approved by We Energies and then producing power within less than 2 weeks of installation. I chose the financing option that Sun Badger offered through Sunlight Financial as I did not have the funds available for a full solar project and electrical upgrades needed for the project I wanted to do. If you are not planning to sell your house for a while, I highly recommend this option. I received my first electric bill and my Sunlight Financial bill is already less than the savings on my energy bill. This is with the extra generating capacity I added to my system for a future electric car purchase, and the electrical upgrades that I included in the financing. One thing - I would not recommend getting capacity beyond use in the We Energies service area in Wisconsin, as they pay wholesale prices for the energy you sell back. When you see on an energy bill how little that is, you just shake your head. Once the system is installed, you can monitor production every day through the Sun Badger app on your phone - seeing how much each panel produces, production by 15 minute increments, daily, weekly and monthly production. It is cool to see. I found Sun Badger delivered completely on what I was sold in my initial Zoom meeting. Their representatives have been professional and communicative and very good at explaining the overall process step-by-step. If you are considering a home solar panel installation, I highly recommend Sun Badger Solar.

Our system went into service May 26, earlier than expected, and is delivering as promised! Sun Badger folks were extremely helpful and responsive, and professional, throughout the purchase, permitting, and installation process. We chose Sun Badger after considering a competitor, and felt the Sun Badger equipment and funding process was superior, and their technical qualifications hit all the items in a checklist provided by our utility for solar provider selection. Sun Badger was responsive to questions throughout the process, and even provided a solution to our weak home WiFi signal, in order to get system communications on-line for performance monitoring. Self-monitoring is kind of fun through the Sun Badger app, but 3 years of advanced monitoring and diagnostics, with automatic alarming and call out of a maintenance professional are provided free of charge. This covers the period when "infant mortality" component failures would be expected.

Sun Badger is very easy to work with. They make the process seamless from start to finish. Having someone do all the paperwork, design, and installation of my solar was worth every penny!
