We shopped around a little and we're definently happy with our choice. More bang for our buck it seems and lots of options to fit our needs. Pretty easy to communicate with. We did have 2 problems. Got a leak from where one of the panels screwed in but they came out immediatley and fixed it quick and smoothly which was terrific, however, they made cleat holes on the opposite side of the roof they worked on and it was a 3month old metal roof. They had a roofer come out to quote repairs and he confirmed the type of damage, age of roof and recommended $500 to fix it which included labour. Smart wave sent the panel guys out again and they were just going to sink screws and silicone it which wasn't good enough for us since it was brand new and that solution would take a lot of years off the roof. The guys agreed but it was the best they could do cause they weren't roofers. Smart wave then asked us for a quote for us to fix it. I said $200 which should cover special ordering a new sheet to replace ourselves and rest of supplies. Never heard from them again. Disappointing.

Smart Wave as a company was pretty good. I wish I had more education after the install (ie. how much I am producing vs. consuming, how to I find that information myself in the future). They had a problem with the wiring that they needed to come back and fix. But they did do that.

Smart Wave exceeded all of our expectations during the design and installation of our system. Our experience began with Smart Wave’s sales rep. Dan’s honesty and transparency during the proposal process. Next was their well structured, project management approach used on their projects. What impressed us the most was the outstanding communication and quick response by Smart Wave’s Project Coordinator, Darcy, throughout the job. On our job, she was able to reach back to the rest of their team and get questions and actions resolved quickly. Other things that impressed us were their competitive pricing, use of premium components in their systems, good documentation, warranties and outstanding value. And we like the fact that we can monitor and record the output of each of our solar panels online.

I expected to replace my electric bill with Xcel for the bill to pay for the solar panels and I'm still getting charged over $100 a month - even though the system SAYS it's working properly and is generating enough power for what my needs average. Clearly, there's some problem with either accessing the power or communication with Xcel that I've gone to solar. NEITHER company's customer service is any help. (I'd expect that from Xcel. There was good communication with Smart Wave during the install, but not anymore.) I'm frustrated!
