I was not able to have my installation completed by Better Earth because the utility company was asking that I replace the incoming electrical line or move my gas meter. Having said that, I still need to give Better Earth a positive review because of the way Chris L worked with us trying to find a way to get the project completed. Even when we were looking at another installation company, Chris remained helpful and was willing to work with another installer to ensure we could get solar installed at our home. I don't think that many businesses are willing to go the extra mile like Chris did. Ultimately, we were able to get our deposit back even though Better Earth did incur some costs in our project. I would recommend Better Earth Solar to others looking for solar installers.

They were very professional. They returned calls and followed up when they said they would. They onstallatuon happened when they said it would. It went very fast and smoothly. We couldn’t be happier with our new solar system. It is working great and producing lots of electricity. It is very enjoyable to know that we are saving money but more importantly helping out the planet.

Justin T was beyond patient and detailed in explaining all of the benefits for getting solar for our home. He answered all questions, and concerns during & after business hours. He made himself available at all times, kept us in the loop throughout the process from the moment he offered his services to the date of install. He actually came out to our home and stayed the entire time until the install was complete. He is a true professional and goes above & beyond for his customers....we felt like family! Anyone wanting and or needing some knowledge and free information on getting Solar for your home....Justin T is your guy! Better Earth Solar Company is the quality solar panels your home deserves!

Very professional company from top to bottom, especially our salesman Andres. Very detailed communication about the entire project and his follow-up made me feel like he was working for me. His quick reponses to any of our concerns made the process from electricity to solar relatively seemless. Highly recommended company

I hate to be forced to have to leave a negative review for any company. Although after 90 days and being told they would make it right I am forced to share my negative experience with everyone. First I was promised that even though they subcontract the roofing jobs they would stand by it. Total lie beacause after the roofers punched holes in my ceiling with nails and leaving trash and nails all over my yard. The roofers tried to make it good by grinding the nails and patching and painting my ceiling. Sadly they painted all over my fixtures and made a mess of my house. Not to mention that the inside of my house was covered in dust. Better Earth said well that's your issue with the roofers. The sales man showed me only their internal reviews I trusted him and never looked at better busines burea until I had problems. Better business burea had over 23 1 star reviews that were very similiar to my experience. Only after I pointed it out to them did they start answering them all within a couple of days. My sales man was Christopher B I was hesitant to sugn up because I didn't want to deal with subcontrators he gauranteed me that the only company I would ever deal with was Better Earth Solar. I was assigned Nick and Martin when I stared having problems with their company. They are both liars and the owner of the company CEO Zain J he's on linkidin they are not responsive nor do they care please feel free to message him CEO Zain J on linkedin if their company has wronged you. I am filing a lawsuit against them and have 36 other unsatisfied customers and am looking to file a class action suite. This won't be their frist one look online in Florida they had multiple people installed and no solar connection for anywhere from 4 to 8 months.

Installation scheduling and process was pretty fast. The team worked very well with the city and permitting office on applications and inspections. I didn't have to worry about any of that process. The solar app was sufficient and worked for the first 2 months or so, but recently erased all my data for the first few months. I've followed up with them, but post-install customer service is lacking. I have seen cost savings from the solar panel, so in terms of the installation process, the experience is good.

Going Solar was a learning experience. There are many departments within the BetterEarth company and there is the involvement of Southern California Edison and your city inspector. It is a very complicated process with multiple players that need to sync together. There were problems with my Solar process. But I was lucky to have my sales people, Andres M and Louisa as my advocates to go to bat for me when I needed help. My Solar System has been in operation for 1.5 billing cycles. I am enjoying using my air conditioner when the weather is hot as opposed to sweltering to avoid the high energy costs. At the end of the Solar process, everything is working like it should. The first half billing cycle gave me a $22 credit and the second full billing cycle gave me a $56 credit. Before Solar, my bill averaged $225 a month. However, 3 years ago my average bill was $80. SCE has proposed a 40% rate increase over the next 5 years and fee of an additional $56 monthly service fee a month if you make less than $180,000. This service fee is basically a gift to SCE for you being their customer. I am glad I went Solar. I am glad that Andres M and Louisa are my sales representatives for Better Earth. And I am glad I went with Better Earth because in the end everything works as it should and they were the only company that would install a solar system on my metal Cal PAC roof without re-roofing.

Do not be fooled by these crooks… $80,000 later and they walk away from your project claiming tampering where there was none… no proof, no explanation… they just void your warranty and walk away leaving a none working system behind… but first they collect $80K from bank and ignore homeowner plea to send a supervisor to check if what is being said to be true… they don’t!!! , do not trust or believe Mr. Martin M (some kind of nobody that voids warranties based on here say) and Mr. Dean S supposedly CEO ir one of the owners that will promise you that they will resolve the issue and get your system up and running but then gives an order to not fix the issue and not to contact homeowner… I hope you take this into consideration if you plan on going solar… Better Earth Solar is NOT the company to use for your project… Its been over two and a half years, i had to hire an electrician to repair their shortcomings and i have two batteries that are paperweights on my wall because they installed them, turned them on without connecting them to the system which caused them to fully drain and make them unusable… I hope no one else has to go through this kind of distress from deceitful companies like Better Earth Solar.

While I was convinced that Solar is the way to go, I was super impressed with what they have done - Right from Keagan completing the contract within in no time, to installation and service thereby. Compared with Tesla and Sunrun, BetterEarth, I would say is more accommodative, not cross-selling hungry and delivering on promise. Even, if there are delays, they do not keep you in dark. Give them a try, you will not repent. Sales Reps (like Keagan) are readily reachable, when needed.

UPDATE (Oct/2023): After I filed the original review (below) in August, Nick from their escalations team reached out to speed up the process. In the next few weeks, they fixed the spacing issue with the panel mounts, installed the ground rods, fixed the city permit, got the city to re-inspect for the 3rd time, had PGE activate the system, and sent me a check for the delay per their installation guarantee. I am updating my review from 1-star to 3-star and wish this had been the post-installation experience without having to escalate. ORIGINAL (Aug/2023): Signed 8 solar panel contract in Jan 2023, then they raised their price by $900 as their site inspection found the panels would make more electricity than the estimate. I was purchasing not leasing, so why does that even matter? I decided not to argue as time was of the essence since the interconnection application with PGE had to be filed before April 15th to be grandfathered into NEM2 rates. Installed very quickly in February. Then everything went south from there. They took four months to file the proper application for the permit with the city, as they kept going back and forth with various mistakes. Four times seriously? Is this the first time they were filing for a solar panel permit? City inspection in June found issues to fix. It's now August and they still have not bothered to fix these issues. SIX freaking months after panel install, they are still not turned on and this company won't even give me an ETA for when the installers will fix their mistakes.

Title: Outstanding Service - 5 Stars for Marcus M at Better Earth Solar! I recently had the pleasure of working with Better Earth Solar and specifically with Mr. Marcus M. I must say that the experience has been nothing short of exceptional, and I am more than happy to give him and the team a well-deserved five-star review. Initially, I encountered a minor issue during the solar panel installation, as a small hole was accidentally made in my roof. After heavy rain, a water leak became evident near the wall, leaving water marks on the wood beam and wall surface. I immediately reached out to Better Earth, and they promptly sent a team to fix the exterior and stop the leak. This quick response was highly appreciated, and it demonstrated their commitment to customer satisfaction. The highlight of the experience was working with Mr. Marcus M, who was primarily responsible for the interior repair. I must admit, I was quite worried about the repair process, fearing that the damaged area wouldn't match the existing color. However, my worries were quickly put to rest as Marcus worked his magic and performed an astonishing job. The water stain on the interior surface completely disappeared, and now, I can't even tell where the issue was initially. Mr. Marcus M's attention to detail and skillful craftsmanship are truly commendable. His dedication to ensuring flawless repair is something that every customer hopes for. I am extremely satisfied with the outcome, and I want to express my gratitude to Marcus for his outstanding workmanship.

DON'T USE Better Earth. I have regretted using them from almost the beginning. The absolute worst communication I have ever had from anyone who I was hiring to do $90,000plus worth of work on my house. I meet with the salesperson and with Marshal (I believe he is one of the area managers) 4th of July weekend 2022 and entered into contract shortly thereafter. My solar finally got activated June 22, 2023. We had no communication with the roofing company that they hired. I could not discuss any concerns or requirements that I had. They wanted to know what color shingles I wanted and that was it. Did not and would not do things the way I wanted, so I was on the roof as they were here doing the work fixing some problems that my roof had that they were just going to leave. I had to buy new skylights because they were just going to reuse the 30+ year old ones, yet again not what I wanted. In the sales meeting I had very specific instruction on where I wanted the panels to be installed. If they could not do it the way I wanted I did not want to get them. They promised one thing and then when it came to the installation, they were going to do another. I did speak with the installer, and they were able to install the panels where I wanted them. The installers did what they could to make it work, we compromised. But then they did not communicate the changes to the office to get the paperwork changed and resubmit the plan change to the city. Over one month after panels installed. FAILED FIRST INSPECTION. Serval weeks later they got the next inspection, FAILED INSPECTION 2. The worker from Better Earth had no clue how to fix the electrical problems (I was back on the roof helping him correct the problems), and the inspector found several damaged shingles on my brand new $22,000 roof that was caused by the solar installers, who "fixed it" by covering it with Henrys type Caulking. Better earth sent over more repairman, and they put more Henrys type caulk and sprinkled dirt on it to make it look better. I reached out to Better Earth and explained to them what the problem was and what needed to be done to fix it. Yet again no communication inside of Better Earth. Inspection rescheduled and FAILED INSPECTION 3. Yet another group of Better Earth installers showed up, with the wrong color shingles and when I explaind to them what needs to be done they said that is not what we were told was wrong (I called at least 3 times telling someone at Better Earth what the problem was and what the repair was and what the inspector was requiring). I was at the previous failed inspections and spoke with the inspector. They finally had a roofer come out and do the repairs properly. INSPECTION 4 PASSED 4/27/23. The solar panels were installed 10/31/22. Now waiting on PTO. PTO granted 6/22/23. I downloaded app and registered and signed in. No individual panel monitoring. That was one of the few things I required when I signed on with Better Earth. The other was an electrical panel upgrade and I was told no, we will downgrade your existing panel. I regret using Better Earth and would never use them again, or could I ever recommend them to anyone.
